One of the best kept secrets to make the most of the Cadiz coast is to know which beach to visit depending on the wind. Therefore, here you will find some tips to help you know which is the best beach according to the wind 🌬️
☀️ Levante Days (East Wind)
The Levante wind can be strong and dry, especially along the Atlantic coast. On these days, it’s best to look for more sheltered beaches or those facing west.
Recommended beaches:
La Caleta (Cádiz city): Small and well-protected. Located in the historic center of Cádiz, it’s surrounded by plenty of bars and shops.
Cala del Aceite (Conil): A spacious, sheltered cove with easy access. A great option for people with reduced mobility or families with children.
Any other Roche cove: Smaller and less accessible than Cala del Aceite. A better choice if you're looking for more privacy.
🌊 Poniente Days (West Wind)
The Poniente wind is cooler and more pleasant. Perfect for enjoying open beaches with good waves.
Recommended beaches:
El Palmar (Vejer): Ideal for surfing and unforgettable sunsets.
Zahora (Barbate): Peaceful, family-friendly, with beautiful views of the Trafalgar lighthouse.
Caños de Meca (Barbate): Relaxed atmosphere and wild nature.
Bolonia - eastern area (Tarifa): Dunes, crystal-clear waters, and Roman ruins.
