Where to eat in Medina Sidonia
As hosts, we would like to share with you our favorite restaurants. Here are three options that combine flavor, location, and authenticity.

1. Restaurante El Duque – Tradition and Quality
This restaurant is our top recommendation for a very simple reason: it’s our favorite. Specializing in local meats, El Duque offers an authentic regional dining experience without needing to drive. The space is large, so there’s almost always a table available, even without a reservation.
During the week, they also offer a small tapas menu for lunch. The quality of the dishes and the service are excellent, making it a safe bet for anyone.
📍 Location: This might be the restaurant’s only downside—it’s not in the busiest area. Still, it’s just a 10-minute walk from our apartments. They also have a large parking area if you prefer to drive.
2. El Show Tapas – Fusion Tapas with Beautiful Views
Looking for something more casual? Then try El Show Tapas, located right in front of the famous Arco de la Pastora. This bar also has a terrace with views of the arch and the old city wall. It’s the best option if the weather is nice or for summer evenings.
Their menu features fusion tapas with a wide variety of flavors, and the value for money is also excellent.
📍 Location: Very central, just a 2-minute walk from our apartments. However, if you're traveling with small children, the next option might be more suitable (cars do pass along this street).
3. Bar Delocos – Local Tapas and Central Location
This bar opened recently, but it has already won us over. Bar Delocos offers a wide variety of tapas—more traditional than those at El Show, but just as tasty and generously portioned.
Prices are very reasonable, though we recommend asking about the prices of off-menu items, as they can be a bit higher. Still, it’s an excellent choice to enjoy local cuisine with great value.
📍 Location: On a pedestrian street, also just a 2-minute walk from our apartments. This street and the nearby Plaza de España are pedestrian zones, ideal if you're traveling with children.
